Living in an wired world means getting the news
first -- before the major networks, before the radio stations, before anyone. My brother-in-law's sister and her family were nearly killed in Thailand by the tsunami. They were saved when they broke into a building and climbed to a higher floor. From that building they emailed their relatives back home in Pennsylvania explaining what had happened, that they were alive, and how they had managed to escape death. Family in Pennsylvania immediately called my brother-in-law. His wife called my wife and we first heard the news via cell phone in the car Christmas day.
