I waited in line to vote this morning, but fortunately voting was very fast. I marked up my multiple guess ballot in about 30 seconds, and then rechecked it with those old well-learned SAT gitters. But it was hard to go wrong with this simple ballot. Four easy questions and I think I got a perfect score. There was an LA Times pollster at the exit, but she asked me questions only about the baby. What I wanted to tell someone was that it was my baby who should be voting today -- he'll be living with these decisions more than any of the rest of us. But the thought passed. The only glitch I noticed was the absence this time of those little "I voted" stickers. Was there not enough time or money with the recall to get these ordered? Did anyone else notice this? Anyway, I missed the little stickers.

I got my little sticker. Maybe so many people voted in your precinct that they ran out of them.

Why don't you tell us the GOP vs Democrat demographics of where you voted...

Posted by: right-wing vegetarian at October 7, 2003 10:34 AM

Wouldn't it be better to know the demographics of those happy with the state and those that think its going down the tubes (to use an old term)?

We've lost sight that the election is based on the failure of the existing leadership to fulfill the governmental role.

I don't want to be accused of giving away the right answers, so I can't tell you whether to vote "yes" or "no" on the various questions that call for a yes or no answer. That would be cheating.

All I can say is THINK POSITIVE. I think you understand what I mean.

I got my sticker, and my polling place was quite busy. There was a palpable sense of enthusiasm. People were excited to be there, although I suspect most of them were voting the "wrong" way. I hesitated on question two, but in the end, I think I made the right choice.

Santee had a bunch of stickers and they said the turnout was brisk

Got to my polling place at 7:15AM and there was a line spilling into the streets. Never seen it that busy before!!!

Also, the poll workers were handling a lot of provisional absentee ballot forms. So either the turnout is going to be huge or polling place consolidation has occurred and we were drawing from a larger pool of voters or a combination of both.

My precinct had "I voted" stickers. We ran out around 4pm and when I asked for more from the roving inspector (who acts as an emergency resupply), she said she was out, too.
