California in Crisis. Public employees earn 6 figures and retire at 90 percent pay at age 50, community college teachers work 4 days a week, 9 months of the year and are paid $160,000+, prison guards earn tens of thousands more than school teachers -- you get the idea. California has the 8th highest tax burden in the nation, and still overspends its tax base by more than 9 billion dollars every year.
