I CONFESS. I VOTED A MORAL VALUES TICKET. When I voted against John Kerry I was voting against the ethical bankruptcy of mainstream journalism -- e.g. CBS News, the AP, and the New York Times -- news organizations which demonstrated a proven lack of the core moral values we citizens expect from the primary sources of information for the nation -- honesty, integrity, and a commitment to tell all of the news, not just one profoundly slanted side of the news. And when I voted against John Kerry I voted a moral values ticket against John Kerry's ethical bankruptcy as a man -- a man who propagated wretched lies about America's service men in Vietnam, contemptible lies about his own service record, and damnable lies about the men he fought boat by boat with in the Swift Boat patrols. Lies John Kerry never sought to correct and for which he never gave the slightest apology.

True, there were other important moral issues which helped determine my vote in 2004 -- Kerry's open lying about his positions on the Iraq war, Michael Moore's honored seat at the Democratic National Convention, the promise to steal an additional $2 trillion from the American people, etc. -- but these others issues only add exclamation points to the core values which decided my vote for President, values which give continued moral pleasure as I contemplate the outcome of the 2004 election.
